Atlanta, TX Marketing & SEO Consulting

Magnus Opus has served clients large and small all over the US, however, we’ve recently started offering limited consulting services in the Cass County area of East Texas.

Senior SEO Consultant, Michael Magnus, has roots in Atlanta, TX dating back generations. Beginning in January, 2023, Magnus began taking monthly trips to East Texas to visit and support relatives following the passing of his Great Uncle, the Reverend John C. Wilkey.

Although the primary reason for these visits is to be with family, Magnus has made himself available to consult with local small businesses and companies with a larger national footprint that are based out of Atlanta, Cass County, and the general East Texas region.

For businesses wanting to connect with Michael Magnus for recommendations or limited services on their search engine optimization, digital marketing, local search listings, Google ads, and more, reach out through our contact form. Typically this consulting happens in the form of 2-2.5 hour sessions at the rate of $180; about half the normal consulting rate charged by the agency. Meetings are typically held at Caffe Crema in Downtown Atlanta (both for convenience and great coffee), however meetings could also be held on-site at your offices or place of business.

Although many businesses could benefit from outside feedback, the type of business most likely to see the largest return on this time would be companies based in East Texas with distribution regionally or nationally.

Please note that these meetings are predominantly on weekends, so consulting may take place outside of normal business hours.

Also, based on Magnus’ primary employment with Mouser Electronics, we cannot offer consulting in the electronic component industry (sorry ECI!)

Marketing Services Available to East Texas Businesses

Whatever you want to accomplish in our two hours, that’s what we’ll do. Each meeting can be customized to the current needs of your business.

Business Strategy Consulting

We’ve worked with businesses of all sizes to review their strategic planning, understanding their audience, setting goals, and developing methods on how to accomplish them. Michael Magnus teaches classes twice a year at trade shows, coaching small business owners through how to build successful (and meaningful) companies for themselves.

Search Engine Optimization

Local relationships are great for selling locally, but how do you attract a more global customer base? Our team has a lot of experience making websites rank higher on Google; both big, international companies and smaller, locally owned shops. We can brainstorm through the different strategies that make sense for your business and your target audience.

Local Search Rankings

Want more people locally to find your business? Nothing will ever quite replace building relationships, however, we do have some expertise in helping new customers find your business locally. This is particularly important for restaurants and brink-and-mortar stores that have recently opened or recently moved locations. The time can be spent discussing the changes, or we can help you do that work on the spot so that (in some cases) you’re able to walk out with finished listings.

Digital Marketing and Advertising

If you’re considering a social media campaign, paying for Google Ads, or wanting to sponsor the local softball team to get your name on a t-shirt, talk to us first. We’ll help you understand how to maximize the value of your ad spend, or in some cases, propose alternatives that might be a better fit for your business.

Public Relations & Publicity

Is your business doing something new and exciting, but you don’t know how to get the word out or feel too humble to get the word out yourself? Let’s connect and figure out the best way to tell that story and get coverage. Not only can this help you grow awareness of your business, but it can also be good for your Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Note: Unfortunately, we don’t make websites. We can give you advice on how to improve your website, advise on what platform to use for a new website, and help you get more traffic to your website, but each platform is unique and requires a certain level of technical expertise that hasn’t been the focus of our business.

There’s an Atlanta, Texas?

Yes there is! And I’m glad you asked. It’s a great place to live and visit, with a charming downtown and a laid back pace of life in the piney woods. One of Magnus’ favorite places to visit and where he plans to retire one day.

Atlanta, TX was founded in 1871, when the Texas and Pacific Railway was established. Many of the new settlers were from Atlanta, Georgia, which is how the city got its name. Before 1890, the local lumber industry prospered. In 1929, the town was incorporated. The Rodessa oilfield, which opened in 1935, brought prosperity and growth to the area. Today, the town’s economy is fueled by agriculture, forestry, tourism, and the oil industry.

The population of Atlanta, TX is about 5,400, having kept in the 6,250-5,250 range for the last 30+ years. That does not include the population of folks who live just outside of city limits a bit more in the country, or neighbors in Queen City, Linden, Bloomburg, McLeod, and Domino.

Things to do in Atlanta, Texas

Planning a visit to East Texas? Add Atlanta to your list.

The downtown area of Atlanta, TX features locally owned restaurants, an incredible antique store, and a number of resell shops. You can learn more about all of the local industry through the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce website. Also look at their calendar of events for locally hosted car shows, makers fairs, and more.

O’Farrell Country Vineyards offers a true flavor of East Texas. This three-generation, family-owned vineyard has a tasting room.

The Atlanta State Park sits on a lake and is a peaceful retreat for fishing, camping, and birdwatching. The Wright Patman Lake is great for catching catfish (some reported up to 75-pounds!) hiking along trails and shorelines, or just taking a little bit of a breather. The park rents canoes and kayaks as well.
